Current Software Re-write Development

I’m making progress with the re-write of the user client software. I really need to kick this into high gear since chase season is upon us. Some of the things I want to include in this release are:

  • Weather conditions reporting, either from a weather station or from manual entry
  • Severe weather events reporting, manual entry as well as auto-reporting of wind from weather station obs
  • Streaming video support allowing users to indicate when they are running a service such as from www.ustream.tv

    I really like the idea of including real-time images/video alongside your real-time observations, and being able to archive all this data as well. Have you taken a look at Tyler Allison’s http://www.spotternetwork.org? Not to diminish what you’ve already accomplished, but he’s doing a lot of similar stuff (see for example: http://tinyurl.com/4xwy4n)…perhaps a mutual venture could take place. Just a thought. :-)
